Car Alarms: 1994 Grand Cherokee Alarm, side kick panel, grand cherokee v8

Question
I have a 1994 Grand Cherokee, V8.  When the factory alarm is set, I cannot disengage it by unlocking the driver's side door with the key.  The passenger side door, and rear hatch shut off the alarm with the key, but not the driver's side door.  Is there anything I can do to correct this problem?

Thank you.

Answer
Yes, you can permanantly diable the factory alarm (suggested)
and then put in one that actually works.

Open the drivers side kick panel area to expose
the wire packs for the truck. Then locate the
purple/yellow |-| wire in a black plug in this area.

Now take a piece of wire, splice into this wire,
and ground it to the chassis of the car. Tape
it off & you're done.

It will never work now. I do strongly suggest however
that you do not leave it vulnerable. This truck is
TOO easy to rip off and for 50 bucks or so, you can
do an alarm and keyless entry with starter kill.

Anyhow, luck with it.
