Car Alarms: Remote Starter Installation, remote starter installation, weekend mechanic

Question
I just bought a 91 maxima gxe with a working alarm system. I believe it is factory.

The car needs the following:

1.  Replacement for bent toggle switch
(does not always work when toggled).
2.  Remote to open/close power door locks.

My husband says that he would be able to replace the toggle, but since I want a remote starter installed, I should have a professional do everything as they're going to charge me anyway.

Question:
Is remote starter installation better left to a professional, or could a weekend mechanic do it?

Answer
No I would not mess with the old system.
Tell him to buy a good car alarm/keyless entry/remote start/pager combo
from me, I will send him the
wiring chart for the car, and help him
do it himself. Not a hard car,
and you can save
a bunch of $$$ with my help.

Look at the Galaxy 5000 rsw 2way system, for 169.95.
A great deal, 2 LCD 2 way paging remotes and
upto 3000 foot range. Can't do better for all the
features it comes with, and it should take
hubby 1/2 a day if a novice to figure it out
and install it right.

Let me know and we'll get you all fixed
up with the right system.
