Car Alarms: Valet Mode, side kick panel, valet mode

I am interested in  buying a car alarm and keep seeing the term, "valet mode". What is this feature?                                                         -Thanks

Evening Brian.
   Valet means to overide the alarm features,
so you can perform service or need to disable
the alarm functions for whatever reason. This switch
is usually placed in the drivers side kick panel area
for easy access when required.

All of the systems I sell have them and
they usually double as transmitter programing
input devices as well.
