Car Alarms: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee driverside lock unlock wires, jeep grand cherokee, dome light supervision

Question
Hello, I finally got everything wired and now when I push the transmitters to lock/unlock only the back doors work and I keep blowing a inline fuse. You have been so helpful is there any thing you could tell me to look for other than a big can of gasoline and a match.  thank you scott-------------------------

Hello, I recieved your answer however; the wiring chart calls for orn/vio and pnk/blk you are saying orn/purp and blk/wht. The only wires that come close are orn/rd and wht/blk the wire size is not the same with these two wires and the wires I used on the passenger side were the same. Is there anything more you could tell me.

thank you so much for your help already   Scott

Ok, hate this vehicle for aftermarket applications!!
LOL that being said, Here it is...

POWER LOCK|org/pur-blk/wht|5wire
POWER UNLOCK|pnk/blk -pnk/blk |5wire

Use the orange/purple for lock and the pink/black for unlock at the drivers door switch to operate the drivers door lock.

Use black/white for lock and pink/black for unlock at the passenger front door switch to unlock all passenger doors. It is required to interface in each door even if the vehicle is equiped with keyless entry!!!

You can also Can also use Our Module part number 455t door lock interface control module. This will control door lock, unlock, arm, disarm, dome light supervision and more. Be carefull and don't forget to fuse the relays
at 20 amps for each 2 used.

Good luck with this one.
It's a royal pain in the butt!

Nope. you have the note we all do.
Each door has a set of wiring, and you have
to do both with 5 wire. The colors are the same
though. I wish I had more for you,
but we stopped installing anything
at all into 1996+ Grand Cherokees.

Try my forum at www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com
One of my techs there make be able
to assist further.

Hope so.

Answer
Nope. Now you understand why we don't touch them here.

See 5 wire reverse lock again at www.relayhelp.com
You need 4 relays to do them all correctly.

Go back in and re check the work.

Hate this project? Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.
We ALL hate doing this stupid truck.
