I have a 1995 Ford Taurus  I have a remote keyless entry whose battery died, we replaced it with the same battery but I think it needs reprogramming.  How do I do so?  it is transmitter 1

As nice as that sounds, I still may not be able to assist.
Does the system have a VALET programming/overide switch?
If not, this could be problematic.
Look around under the dash area for a switch (push button or toggle) that does not seem to be part of the car's
own equipment. If you can't locate that, we can't
re program it.  Look under there and get back to me.

I looked under the dash, the only switch I saw was the brake line one.  the remote came with the car though, it wasn't installed later.  Does that count?  talk to you soon.  Thanks

Answer
Well, that's kinda bad then.
You are going to have to go back to the dealer to
have that remote re programed. When it lost power
the first time, it lost the Ford programing.
Although it would be better to replace it with
a long range, multi-functional system for less money,
if you insist on using the factory system (TRW) then
that's what you'll need to do to get it back
up and running.  I know it's not the best news,
but it's not all bad either.

Still fixable.

Good luck with whichever way you go
with this. If you are looking to do
better for the car, go to my website to shop.
ALL the systems there, would enhance
what you currently have.

Be well.
