Car Alarms: disengaging 95 grand cherokee alarm, jeep grand cherokee, screw driver

Question
my wifes 95 jeep grand cherokee alarm remote broke, and we don't want to buy a new one.  we don't live in a area that causes concern or a need for the alarm, o.k. we're cheap:).  Anyway, is there a way for us to just disconnect the alarm and just use the door locks like a normal person?  thank you and happy holidays.  ROB MILLER

Answer
Okee dokee. Get a screw driver
and remove the plastic kick panel between
the left foot area and the metal wall.
The find the FACTRY ALARM DISARM wire (
purple/yellow |-| located in the black plug.

When you have it, ground it to the chassis/body
of the truck. This will permanantly disable the
factory alarm.  If not a factory alarm, then you
need to look for the valet overide button,
and disable it.

Good luck with it.

You have a Happy and safe New Year!
