Car Stereos: jvc-alero, jvc cd player, oldsmobile alero

I hook up my new jvc cd player into my 2003 oldsmobile alero I matched red 2 red yellow to yellow ect but for some reason now I have to manually turn on and off the cd player I thought that the ignition wire was not hooked up properly but it appears to be do you know what the problem could be

Hi Andrew,

In an '03 Olds, you need to usually open the front door to turn off the radio.  Taking the key out of the ignition won't turn it off.

If that isn't doing it, check and see if the car is losing the presets and where it is on the CD when it's done playing to see if it's just a case of the constant and accessory wires being mixed.

And make sure you bought the GM integration harness, or your deck will never work according to the car's specs.
