Car Stereos: car audio problem, loose wire, power wires

i have an infiniti I 30 1996 with bose stereo system sometimes the radio will no power on and when it does power on it has no volume we have checked the fuses and there not blown, we checked for shortage in wires none either is there a fuse in the back of the stereo itself, causing no volume?? thanks so much

Hi Emilie,

Coming on sporadically is usually a loose wire somewhere.  Check that the deck has a clean ground, and power wires.  Move the wiring around; see if it changes the behaviour.  I bet you'll find there's a loose wire somewhere.

If it works sometimes, your issue is certainly not a fuse.
