Car Stereos: replacing a 2004 factory bose amp, tahoe z71, checy tahoe

Question
Hi there, I have a 2004 Checy Tahoe Z71 and the speakers in my vehicle are not working. The stereo still comes on and I can here the sub producing bass but no sound out of door or rear speakers, well constantly anyway. It works every now and then BUT only the rear. Is the amp going out do you think and how difficult is it to replace?  Thanks for your time

Answer
Hi Brian,

The good news is, amps working intermittently is usually just a bad/corroded wire or connection.

The bad news is, finding it can be a pain in the butt.

First, play around with the harness leaving the back of the deck while the sound is on.  If it cuts in and out in sync with you playing with the harness, you can start your troubleshooting there.

Same applies for the connections in and out of the factory amplifier.

If those don't do anything, then start looking for replacement amplifiers.
