Car Stereos: Dash Speakers Trail Blazer, buying speakers, impedance

I have a 2002 Trail Blazer, I Wanted to Add the dash speakers because i noticed I wasn't getting any audio from that section. I went to take apart the dash and realized there is no wiring for the speakers, what do you recommend i should do? should i connect them parallel to the front door speakers? do you know a better way i should wire these speakers?

Hi,

You can't just wire them in parallel, or, thanks to Ohm's law, you'll lower the impedance across the circuit, and possibly blow the deck.

I would suggest buying speakers that come in components and are designed to do that, or get a set of 2ohm speakers for your doors, and 2ohm speakers to put in the dash, and then wire both in series into the channel.  (Your car stereo is designed for 4ohms per channel.)
