Car Stereos: car amp trouble, rca cables, car amp

I have an 2 channel amp hooked up to 2 6x9's the right speaker is working correctly but the left speaker there is no bass and the words are hard to hear I have retraced my steps numerous times and different ways but still not fixed. And its not blown. Could you please tell me what it might be?

Hi Charles,

This could be as simple as your imaging being wrong.  This happens simply when you hook up the speaker leads backwards.

Check to make sure they're hooked up correctly.

Then, if that doesn't fix it, switch the wires on the amp.  If the imaging issues follows the channel switch, you either have a bad input on the amp, or the amp has gone bad.  To test the amp's input, swap the RCA cables between the two channels and see if it moves.  If it does, you have a bad cable or a bad wire.

You can see where I'm going with this.. just keep switching until you find your culprit.
