Car Stereos: Amp and sub install on factory radio, mono amp, alpine type r 12

Question
Hello, I recently bought a 2003 Cadillac Deville DTS (base), and i was wondering would it all be possible to install an amp and sub to this system without having to remove the factory deck thats already in there? Ive read that its a pain when it comes to installing aftermarket radios in Cadillacs, so if it is possible, how would i go about doing so? The radio is a NON Bose system, and from what i can tell (from goin on ebay) they dont have rca jacks. Ive done my own installs on every vehical ive owned, but the Caddis seem to be a whole other beast! The sub im wanting to put in there is an Alpine Type R 12" (swr-1242d) and the amp is a Pioneer class D mono Amp (GM-D8500M). In the past Ive gotten away with beefing up the altenator, and not having to install a cap or extra battery, would i be able to do the same with this car?
Thanks again,
Kevin

Answer
Hi Kevin,

Installing amps isn't the tough part.  Just get a line out converter, and an amp install kit and you're good to go.  You can install it on the factory stereo just fine, you'll just need to find the high level output (off of the speakers), and an accessory wire.

Whether or not you will need a stronger alternator/battery can be entirely random.  I've seen two cars that are identical in every way according to the factory respond completely differently to stereos being installed. All you're looking at there is trial and error.
