Car Stereos: simple install?, line level inputs, infinity basslink

Question
i have an infinity basslink(1st series) that i want to install into my 02 accord ex. i love my factory in dash 6 disc but after a lil research i find all i need to hook up to it is the remote on but cannot find a diagram of the pin to know what it is. i am a novice but hav little to no install experience but i am a bit of a tech geek & hav some knowledge. i understand the rest is pretty much an apm kit install. use a 4gauge hot wire w/a in line fuse(20amp) and the ground. other than that which is better-run rca's frm the HU via rca adapter or line level inputs. if so where would i get my best sound? line level from HU/ rca frm HU or rca frm rear speaker splice?

Answer
Hi,

Factory decks don't have remote wires.

The good news, though, is that most highlevel output converters (which you asked about later, and you should probably use), often do provide a remote output.

If the one you get doesn't, then you can just wire into an accessory output.

The downside is that the amp will be on whenever the car is on or in accessory, but the good news is the amp won't draw much power if it's not actually doing any work.
