Car Stereos: car cassette problems, dodge caravan, cassette adapter

I got the cassette tape you hook you mp3player into a cassette player in my 1997 dodge caravan. And everytime I put it in and ot makes a clicking sound and comes out and then does it again. It will rarely play but it never works. I bought another cassette adapter to see if it works but it still won't. Please help me!

Hi Rusty,

Many tape players depend on their ability to turn the little wheels inside the cassette player to play.  If they can't, they'll assume the tape is over and eject it.

Check both of the adapters you got, and make sure both wheels move smoothly.  Try it both ways (as in both "sides" of the player).

If that doesn't work, you might have to get an FM transmitter instead, as your old deck may no longer possess the fortitude to turn the wheels anymore.

(Whereas a real cassette might be easier.)
