Car Stereos: pioneer head unit, chevy silverado, pioneer head unit

Question
Have 2001 chevy silverado. Had pioneer head unit about a year, no problems at all. Had a alpine class d amp 2 subs installed, also kenwood 4ch amp installed and replace door and deck speakers. Now I can barely get fm signal and no am signal. Replaced antenna adapter twice. Pulled out stereo and only noticed that the blue/white wire is hooked up to the remote wire for the amp. The blue power antenna wire off the harness is capped and not in use. Any ideas on what is going on. I do not have a power antenna on truck obviously, some how lost reception on stereo, Ipod and cd work fine.

Answer
Hi Nate,

The blue power antenna wire is capped because your truck doesn't have an amplified antenna.  It's just a standard antenna.

When did the FM go out?  Was it working on this Pioneer head unit before?  If so, I'd look into the antenna itself; they're known to corrode/get bent and lose continuity.

If that's not it, you might have to do some digging.  Perhaps you pinched a wire somewhere?
