Car Stereos: car stereo, eclipse spyder, followup question

i have an eclipse spyder n it sat out in the weather recently for a period of time. now my stereo doesnt work..it will turn on and clock works and i can scan thru the channels. but there is no volumn at all  nothing..what could this be

It could be all sorts of things depending on which year and options your car has.

It also depends whether you have a factory, or an aftermarket deck.  If it's turning on and no volume, make sure you test with every source, and as insane as it sounds, you've turned the volume up (if the battery died, it may have reset itself to 0).

After that, if you have an amplifier separate from the deck, you could have a dead amp, or a separate fuse running it that's died.

I would suggest that's the more likely scenario.
