Answer
Hi,

Sorry about the very long delay in answering your question.  The fact is, this is the sort of question I really can't answer very well:  I don't know how your current system sounds, what it might be missing, or what your goal is in adding an additional amp and sub.  I don't know whether you're looking for head-turning bass or just some balanced, low-end reinforcement.  And I haven't had the opportunity to sample very many JBL subwoofer systems.

As a general rule, one thing I can recommend is to look for a combination sub/enclosure package, rather than buying a component subwoofer and trying to match it with a pre-fabricated box.  The nice thing about buying a enclosed subwoofer is that the manufacturer has already done the work of designing and building a custom box that's matched to the subwoofer.  I know that JBL makes several different models of enclosed subwoofer systems.  If you're just looking for some low end support in a balanced audio system, you can pick an enclosure that uses a single subwoofer.  There's no need to buy a dual box system unless you're looking for a ton of bass.  Once you've picked out a subwoofer, you can find an amplifier to match it.

Hope this helps!
