Car Stereos: 2005 Silverado Amp Installation, brown wires, radio harness

Question
I have a 2005 Silverado with the bose and the 6 disk changer. I'm putting my subs in and need to know which wires I have to hook up my Install Edge audio converter to. The wires coming out of the converter are grey, grey/black, white, white/black, and two brown. Which wires do I tap into from from the stock wiring harness?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Jake,

You won't want to connect to any wires in the factory radio harness.  Instead, the best option is to connect to the stock subwoofer wires, located under the center console.  Your truck should be equipped with a very small subwoofer, located at the front of the center console area and firing forward.  The Bose amplifier is located under the large center console storage compartment, with a pair of plugs facing the rear of the truck.  There are four subwoofer wires, and they run between the factory amplifier and subwoofer.  You can either remove the storage bin under the armrest, and look for the amp plugs underneath; or take off the cover panel in front of the storage compartment, and see if you can find the subwoofer harness running to the back of the sub cabinet.

The converter's wires should be connected to the stock wires as follows:

Connect the white wire to the dark green factory wire.
Connect the white/black wire to the light blue/black factory wire.
Connect the gray wire to the dark blue/white factory wire.
Connect the gray/black wire to the light green/black factory wire.

The brown wires on the converter will not be used.

Hope this helps!
