Car Stereos: rear speakers buick century, plastic spacers, stock speakers

Question
i got the rear speaker covers off, after reading your answer i guess they were not supposed to come off that way, the plastic was so brittle that they both broke.

Answer
Hi Joe,

As you're finding, most GM sedans require you to remove the entire rear deck cover to replace the speakers--you can't just pull off the grills. Depending on the model year of your Century, you'll probably need to remove the rear seat before you can take out the rear deck cover and get to the speakers.  Be sure to unplug the center brake light, inside the trunk, before removing the rear deck panel.  Your stock speakers are mounted on plastic spacers; you'll need to use these to install your new speakers.

Hope this helps!
