Answer
Hi Chris,

It's very easy to connect a line output converter in a 2002 Taurus, because the wires you need can be found at the amplifier/tuner pack in the trunk.  This unit is mounted on the rear of the driver's-side rear wheel well, under the liner on the left side of the trunk.  When you pull back the liner, you'll see a silver box mounted behind the wheel well; there will be one large plug and one small plug, along with a connection from the antenna.

The rear speaker wires can be found in the larger plug.  Here are the colors:

left rear (+) gray/blue
left rear (-) tan/yellow
right rear (+) orange/red
right rear (-) brown/pink

You don't need to remove the factory head unit for this installation--in fact, there are no speaker wires present at the head unit location.  They all originate at the amplifier in the trunk.

Hope this helps!

Brian
