Car Stereos: Monsoon stereo, hyundai santa fe, hummer h3

Hi,
I purchased a Hummer H3 monsoon 6 disc charger as a replacement for my 2003 Monsoon 6 disc changer for my Hyundai Santa Fe. The new changer has XM built into it. I plugged the new stereo in my vehicle but the changer wouldnt play music from the radio or the cd changer. It would let me load the CDs but it wouldnt play anything. Does this stereo need to be programmed or is it just not compatible with my truck? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience, I have found that the different systems are not compatible.  They have different firmware or coding or something that makes them work differently than they are supposed to, unless they are matched to the same models.  Hope this helps, Scott
