Car Stereos: broken antenna, scion xb, scion

I snapped off the antenna on my 09 scion xb when removing a kayak.  The mount is in place but the wand snapped off. I asked the dealer and they said the whole part would have to be replaced because it is one unit. I am wondering if you have a cheaper solution ($595).

Megrette, Normally, the wand just screws onto the base, and it can easily be replaced.  If the wand is part of the base, then it will be a pain to replace.  It is a one-piece wire that goes all the way to the radio.  You may have it replaced cheaper at an electronics store, rather than the dealer, but it will probably have to be completely replaced.  Hope this helps, Scott
