Car Stereos: car stero aux. input, chevy silverado, 2004 chevy silverado

Question
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with the Bose indash 6 disc changer.Does this head unit have an aux. input on the rear of the head unit because the front has a button that says aux. input but there is nowhere on the front to plug in

Answer
Hi Donny,

You won't find a "universal" auxiliary input on the back of the head unit. The Auxiliary function is used with external components used in some GM vehicles, such as rear seat entertainment options, or external cassette or CD players.

There are quite a few after-market products available to convert the proprietary GM input to a universal auxiliary or iPod input.  Some manufacturers to check out would be Dice Electronics, PAC Audio, Soundgate, or USA Spec.  In general, you can expect to pay around $100 for this type of interface device.

Hope this helps!
