Car Stereos: Jenson BT1611i installation in a 97 Honda Civic, fuse box, yellow wires

We installed my new Jensen Phase Linear BT1611i car stereo in my 97 Honda Civic yesterday and the power button lights up orange, but when you push the button, nothing happens.  It doesn't power on or do anything.  We even tried using the power button on the remote and it doesn't turn it on either.  What should we do to get it working?

Hi Jesse,

It sounds like you may not be getting power on the accessory power wire; this is the red wire in the Jensen plug.  You can test it with a voltmeter to see if there's voltage present when the key is on.  If it's connected properly, but not powering up, check the radio fuse in the fuse box under the driver's-side dash--it should be fuse #28.

If you have voltage on the red and yellow wires, but the deck won't turn on, it's probably defective.
