Car Stereos: SUBWOOFER NOT PLAYING, kicker l7, voice coils

Question
I HAVE A KICKER L7 AND WHEN I HOOK IT UP TO MY AMP IT DOES NOTHING IT WONT PLAY OR MOVE AND I KNOW MY AMP WORKS BC I JUST TOOK OUT TWO 12" TYPE RS COULD IT BE BLOWN OR WAT COULD IT BE

Answer
Hi Eugene,

It's impossible to say for sure without testing, but if the amplifier worked with the old subs and not with the new one, then it's pretty likely the problem is the sub.  However, it's possible that the sub terminals have just come disconnected inside the box.  You can pull the subwoofer out of the box and make sure the wires are still connected; if they are, then you can test the voice coils with a multimeter to see if you have a shorted or open coil.

Hope this helps!
