Car Stereos: Popped and garbled, dodge ram 2500, cummins diesel

Question
I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel truck with what I believe is a factory standard stereo system.  This morning when I turned the key, the radio came on just fine, but as I continued to turn the key and cranked the engine, there was a loud pop, it sounded like the volume went up and everything started coming out of the left speaker only and sounding very garbled.

Answer
Addison, Your truck runs all power supplies through the main computer.  Instead of getting a direct switched feed from your ignition switch, your radio gets a signal from the computer.  With this complexity of wiring, it is possible that your computer sent the wrong signal to the radio and messed up some internal wiring in the radio.  I would have the radio and computer tested for malfunction.  Hope this helps, Scott
