Car Stereos: Cd player, 2002 acura rsx, acura rsx type s

Question
Whats up man, I recently asked " Brian " this question, but he just told me he already talked to me and answered the question, and brushed me off. Yet I have never used this websight before, I actually just found it for the first time the other day.

I have taken my car to a few audo shops, and they cannot help me, I just want my cd player to work man.

Anyways here is the question, if its been answered before if you could point me to a link that would be much appreciated..

What's up man, I just recently bought a 2002 acura rsx type s, and I'm loving it. However the car had an aftermarket cd player in it, the radio works fine but when a cd is put in, it reads it, counts time, and changes tracks even. But no sound. The stock harness has been cut up by the previous owner, I'm just wondering if this is a fixable problem? I took it to an audio shop and they kept my car for 2 days and couldn't figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for your time

Answer
Hi Casey,

My suggestion would be that whoever installed the aftermarket equipment might've done it wrong.

My theory is that they used the deck's 'power antenna' output to send the remote signal to the amp to tell it to turn on when they installed the factory integration harness.

Now, when you listen to AM/FM, the deck figures it should be powering the antenna, and does so.

But when you turn off AM/FM and go to CD, the deck turns off the outgoing power signal to the powered antenna (cus you don't need an antenna for a CD), and the amp turns off.

Have someone check which deck wire the amplifier's remote wire is connected to -- if it's the power antenna off the aftermarket deck, that's your issue.
