Car Stereos: 2005 monteCarlo, input gain, body shop

I got into a car accident:stereo worked fine after.. afterwards ...had to take it back to the body shop to have them fix a few things...now stereo works only until volume like 13 not as loud as b4 and it will cut out if i turn it any higher ...fuse? amp fried? im lost...used to go to volume 27 and sound great

Hi Jake,

My guess would be that a connection got loosened, or the gain on the amplifier is screwed up.

Try checking your amp's input gain first and make sure it's set up correctly incase someone hit a switch back there or moved the adjuster trying to move around it or something.
