We have a 500 watt Jensen Amp, the Jensen logo will light up, and the power light will come on when you first turn on the ACC of the car, however as soon as the light comes on it will turn off again..... could this be a shot output channel or a bad connection?

Hi Grant,

First, disconnect all of the speakers and inputs from the amp.  All that should be connected are power, ground, and remote.  Turn the amp on.  If it shuts off again, it's likely in need of repair/replacement.

If it doesn't turn off, reconnect inputs and speakers one by one until it does it again.  Then you'll know where your problem is.  A friend speaker or connection could be causing a circuit in the amp to overload and it shuts itself off to protect itself.

If removing the wires fixes it, but then putting them back doesn't break it again, you can safely assume you had bad wiring.
