Car Stereos: fitting 6x9s in the back parcel shelf, parcel shelf, speaker outputs

Question

wires hi there receantly brought a 98 polo and the previous owner had the subwoofer and speakers out the back taken out for his own use. He has left the wires in and i want to fit my own but i know nothing about speakers and dont have a clue what wire is for what speaker (check out picture). cheers

Hi Ben,

The light blue wire in your picture appears to be speaker wire, but there's no way to tell what's connected to the other ends of the wires.  If this was the location of the amplifier, then the wire ends I see in the picture would probably have been connected to the amplifier's speaker outputs, and the wires should be routed to speakers or to the speaker mounting locations.
