Car Stereos: CD Player will shuffle when car is off and ke out ignition, factory radio, dodge durango

I have a 2005 Dodge Durango.  The radio and DVD all work, but the 6 disk CD player does not. However, when the car is turned off and the key is out the ignition, the CD player will make sound like it is shuffling, but the radio is not even on. Concerned my Battery is draining.  Had to get a new battery the other day.  What could be issue with the CD.

Hi Ken,

Factory radio troubleshooting generally falls outside my expertise; but it sounds like there's an internal defect in your CD player that's preventing the mechanism from returning to a "rest" position.  If it continues after the vehicle is shut off, then I would certainly think it could drain your battery over time.  I think your best bet is to look for a replacement head unit.
