Car Stereos: 4 12s bump is coming in and out, 2008 chevrolet impala, chevrolet impala

Question
i have 4 twelves.. 2 audiobahn, 2 kicker, wired to a hct 1500 watt mono block amp. i had it running already bumping ridiculously and then one day the bump is fading in and out.. my first question is i have my remote wire ran under my steering damper to my turn signals.. should i move that.. and to where if so.. also, i hooked up only 1 sub an its doing the same thing.. im thinking i have to upgrade to a another batter because its not holding enough power for that mono to output.. its runing on all 2 gauge wiring and the car is a 2008 chevrolet impala.. like i said i already had it bumping for months, but one day it keeps shorting out, i checked all the wires, im just thinking i need to have another battery, but it confused me because it did the same thing when only hooked up to one sub?? please help

Answer
Hi Nicolas,

There could be a whole bunch of reasons for this.

You might be low on power and require a more powerful alternator and/or battery and/or capacitor.

Your amplifier might be slowly dying.

You might have an impedance issue (frying coil) in one of your subwoofers causing the impedance to go off and screw with your audio.

Start with the cheapest thing first -- a multimeter to test the impedance of all of the subs and their coils, go from there.
