Car Stereos: Wire Short, chevy malibu, gm vehicles

I recently installed an aftermarket JVC cd/radio into my 2003 chevy malibu.  When the radio is first connected to the car, it turns on but then immediately turns off.  This happened with the other after market radio that was in the car too.  I thought it was the radio, but am beginning to think it is a short.

With early 2000 GM vehicles, it is important to get the proper wiring harness adapter to power your radio.  GM has so many options available and wired through the radio that there are many different adapters available.  I would double check with crutchfield.com to see which adapter is compatible with your specific model.  Hope this helps, Scott
