Car Stereos: IPOD Connect to Ford Truck, ford f 250, oem radios

Question
I have a 2003 Ford f-250 with factory stereo that has built-in 6 disc CD changer. I would like to purchase an IPOD adapter to connect my IPOD to my truck sound system. I have one of the FM transmitter-types but it doesn't work too well. I would like to buy one of the types which connects directly to the back of the radio and to my IPOD. My radio model number is 3C3T-18C815-AA. I have seen several web-sites that state the adapter won't work with the 6-CD changer built into the radio; however there is a plug slot on the back of the radio which I am assuming is a plug for an external CD changer like the IPOD adapter requires. Do you know if it will work or not on this radio?? Thank you very much.

Answer
Wylie, I do not have enough resources to know model specific information about all OEM radios.  However, there are two different recommendations that I would try.  First, you can find an online forum for your model of truck, and ask their audio experts about your problem.  Usually, those sites have someone who has done what you are wanting to do and can lead you in the right direction.  Second, you could look for the adapter at Crutchfield.com.  If they carry it, you can call their tech line and ask them if it will work for your model of truck.  Also, if it doesn't work, they usually will take the adapter back.  Hope this helps, Scott
