Car Stereos: Deck wont turn on, power fuse, blown fuse

Question
I had an amp and sub installed with the factory deck. I then installed an aftermarket deck and everything worked fine. Yesterday I took the amp and sub out and the radio still worked fine. Today I replaced the amp and sub but now the stereo won't turn on. I did find a blown fuse coming from the battery to the amp and replaced it but it still won't work. Also, when I was checking out the deck, I can see it still has power because a light blinks, it just won't turn on. I've checked every other fuse I think would be involved but they're all fine. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Louis,  It sounds like you shorted a wire while reinstalling your amp, which blew the power fuse.  When this happened, it probably shorted the radio as well.  If you wired the amp to the blue wire from the radio, you have burned up a wire inside the radio with the short.  Even though they recommend using this wire to hook up amps, it is not fusibly protected, so a short burns up the internal amp in the radio.  Whenever hooking up an amp, always wire the switched wire to the same wire that turns on the radio.  This way, if there is a short, you will just blow a fuse.  Hope this helps, Scott
