Car Stereos: 1995 Dodge Ram with Infinity Speakers, infinity speakers, blown fuses

Question
QUESTION: My 95 Dodge Ram has infinity speakers. The radio that was in it was broken. I bought a new aftermarket radio and only the front tweeters work. I got in behind the other front speakers and rear speakers and saw that they have four wires going to them. I cant trace them back. Does this system have to have a special radio system to work the other speakers? Thank You Sam

ANSWER: Sam,  There isn't any special radio to work the other speakers.  If you didn't buy a wiring adapter for your truck, you need to buy one.  If you did, be sure it was made for your make and model truck.  I believe there are 2 plugs for your truck.  Some wires go into one plug and other wires go into the other plug.  Once you have the proper wiring adapter, just connect the radio wires to the proper wire on the adapter.  The speakers should all work properly.  If not, double check all the settings on the radio.  Hope this helps, Scott

QUESTION: I checked with the BestBuy installer guys and I do have the correct wireing harness. We even checked for blown fuses. I have also checked through the radio for proper settings. It just seems to have no power to the Amp Circuit on the back of the speaker. Where can I check for power to those amps other than right at the speakers? Do you know where that power comes from? Thank you for answering my first question.  Sam

Answer
Sam, There should be a blue wire coming from the truck (behind the radio) that does not have a wire (from the radio) going to it.  That is the in-door amps power wire.  You should connect the blue wire to the switched power wire that turns your radio on.  That should turn those amps on.  Let me know what you find.  -Scott
