Car Stereos: Check CD error, stereo fuse, check cd

I have a 2002 Trailblazer and my radio works fine, but the CD player has an error message check CD, but there is no CD in it and it keeps trying to eject one out has been doing this for a week.  Even when the car is turned off it still does it and I am worried it is going to ru nmy battery down.  What can I do?

Hi Amy,

The first thing to try is to remove your stereo fuse and wait a few minutes.  Plug it back in and see if your CD player starts behaving itself.

If it doesn't, your next step will probably be to pull the unit apart ot see if something's jammed in there causing its sensors to think there's a partially inserted disc.

Or replace it entirely.
