Car Stereos: dvd-r doesnt play, dvdrs, jensen

I have a Jensen VM9312HD indash and when I try to play a dvd-r all it does is loads then ejects or says bad disk. I've tried several disks and have even used a cleaning disk and still nothing. It plays regular dvds fine but not dvd-rs. What should I do?

Mike, I would say you have two options.  First, make sure the DVDrs are top quality with a silver or gold underside.  The lighter the material, the easier it is for your player to recognize it.  Second, you may be sure to use DVD+R discs and not DVD-R discs.  The DVD+R discs were the first to come out and most players have the software to recognize the +Rs.  Hope this helps, Scott
