Car Stereos: Grand Am stereos, pontiac dealer, cassette stereo

I want to replace the factory cassette stereo in a 97 grand am. Is there a way to see what other GM makes and or years will fit? I just want to pick up a used oem from somewhere but want to know what will cross match and fit before i buy one, any ideas?

Steven,  I would call your local Pontiac dealer's parts department, and ask one of them what years your radio crosses over with.  They should be able to tell you.  If not, the service tech should have it in his book for sure.  If you don't get the answer you are looking for there, you can look them up on ebay, and see if the ones listed for your year make and model have other years listed.  Most times, them guys will list each year that it is compatible with.  Hope this helps, Scott
