Car Stereos: 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan tape deck, dodge grand caravan, aftermarket radio

My son installed a device in the tape player that allows playing mp3 players thru the tape deck.  However it could not be removed and I couldn't play the radio.  Using a slim jim I was able to finally extract the device, but now it still thinks there is a tape in the unit.  The eject doesn't remedy this. The radio now won't work.  How can I fix this?

It really depends if something inside got bent on the extraction.  I would try to load a normal tape, then try and eject it.  That should fix the problem.  If it doesn't, then the mechanism is probably bent somehow and needs to be repaired.  If you remove the radio yourself, the repair would cost around $100.  Or you can just install an aftermarket radio with a cd player and mp3 plug built in.  Hope this helps, Scott
