Car Stereos: car audio amp, power hookup, rca outputs

Question
i have a 2002 ford taurus, i hooked up all the stero wires for my speakers, and then theres the amp, good lord the amp, the problme is : it stays on even after i turn off the car, and it drains my battery! :( since i have a stock radio, there is no RCA wire specified for aftermarket stereos, neither is there a power antenna in my car...so my question is....

Answer
Hi Dondre,

You need to get a high level input converter.

Using one of these, you will tap into speaker wires, and it will turn them into low level (RCA) outputs you can hook into your amp.

You can also get units that will create a remote power hookup you can put on your amp so that it turns off when the deck is off.
