Car Stereos: buzzing in front left tweeter, speaker cables, speaker wires

Question
Hi, I've had this set up for 4 years, however over the last
six months I am experiencing problems in the front right
tweeter. It started with the majority of sound shifting to
the front left tweeter. This would happen whenever I would
go over a pothole. Over time the front left tweeter couldn't
handle it and needed replacing. I replaced both tweeters.
The problem still persisted but this time it was just a buzz
that would come through the front tweeter, no sound
shifting. But again it would be intermittent. I switched the
head unit and put in the original unit when I bought the
Jeep. No difference. I checked the wiring around the back of
the headunit to see if there was any bare exposed wires,
none. I check the ground for the amp, scratched away more
paint, tightened the bolt. No difference. Any help is
appreciated. Here is my set up.

Jeep factory head unit RB1,
2 ch high output to low converter, the 4 RCA leads then go
to the amp, RCA and speaker cables routed opposite sides of
Jeep to the power cable,
1.5f cap,
turn-on signal for amp.

I don't get any alternator whining, just intermittent
buzzing when Jeep travels over bumps.

Answer
It sounds like your left front speaker wires have wore through somewhere between the headunit and the speaker.  If the speaker is in the door, it is usually in the door jam somewhere.  If not, it could be under some molding, next to a screw.  Anyways, check that wire all the way, and you should find the problem.  Hope this helps, Scott
