Car Stereos: Monsson radio/CD dislpay, modern options, personal preference

My 2002 Firebird has a Monsoon radio/CD.  The display is not working.  Can it be easily repaired or should I just purchase a new stereo?  Also the light above the controls on the driver door is out also.  Could these problems be from fuses?  I just bought this car and do not have an owners manual.  HELP!

The light above the door controls is easily replaced, and it should work fine.  The radio is of personal preference.  If you would like to keep the current radio, because it is neat or original or something, it will cost about $150 - $200 to repair.  On the otherhand, you can buy a pretty nice new radio for about the same price, and it would have all the new modern options.  I would recommend Alpine as a great replacement.  Hope this helps, Scott
