Car Stereos: Car Info, trip odometer, aftermarket radio

Question
My 05 Malibu has the Trip odometer my Miles per Gallon and some other car related information on it. My CD player is broken and I want to replace it. I was thinking about getting an aftermarket deck with DVD and touch screen. Is there an aftermarket deck that can still give me a reading on the somewhat necessary information that I get from the cars computer?

Karl, I have never seen a factory radio that gives the trip odometer, MPGs, or anything other than radio related stuff.  I am almost positive there is no aftermarket radio that will fully replace that feature.  I do not even know of any aftermarket displays that would adapt to a factory system.  Sorry for the bad news.  Good Luck on your stereo search.  Hope this helps, Scott
