Answer
Christian,  The subs will usually make sound whether they are good or bad.  Between the radio, amp, and subs something is wrong.  I would recommend checking all connections in the sound system.  Also, the radio should power the subs without the amp.  If you rerun the amp wires to the speakers, the radio should power the subs.  If it does, the amp or amp connections are bad.  If it does not, the radio or radio connections are bad.  Usually, when new people wire up their first amp, they use the blue wire from the radio to switch the amp on and off.  Unfortunately, that wire is unfused, and if the wire is inadvertently grounded or shorted, the inside wiring of the radio gets fried and causes the radio to stop putting out sound.  Never use the blue wire for your switched power wire.  Always use the yellow or orange wire switching the radio on to wire your amp up to.  Hope this helps, Scott
