Car Stereos: loss of power to audio system, fuse boxes, radio power

battery went dead, after recharging we lost the power to the radio system in our 2004 caddy Seville

Hi Tom,

It's not uncommon for vehicle fuses to blow during battery charging or jump starts, so I'd start by checking all the fuses.  You probably have multiple fuse boxes in your vehicle, including one (if I recall correctly) behind the rear seat in the trunk and another under the hood.  Check your owner's manual for the fuse locations, and remember that most audio systems have more than one fuse that provides radio power (and luxury car audio systems like yours may have several audio system fuses).
