Answer
Brian,  I think you just made a small wiring mistake.  When wiring up sub amps, they tell you to use the blue (antenna) or blue/white (remote) wire to turn the amp on and off.  You used the antenna wire to turn the amp on.  When you put in a cd, it wants to put the antenna down, so it cuts the power to the blue wire.  I recommend to not use either wire to switch your amp on and off.  There are two reasons.  First, if there gets to be any short whatsoever from the amp to that blue wire, it will blow the amp inside the radio and it will need to be repaired to work again.  Also, for reasons as you found, sometimes the wires turn on and off, when you do not want them to.  I recommend wiring your switched amp wire into the same yellow or orange wire that turns your radio on.  That way, whenever the radio has power to it, the amp does too.  Be sure and cap off the blue wire well, because if it just touches a ground point, you will burn up your radio.  Hope this helps, Scott
