Car Stereos: Jeep Infinity system, jeep grand cherokee, mitsubishi l200

Question
Hi, I have just bought a 2nd hand head unit, amplifier, cd stacker and speakers from a 2002 jeep grand cherokee, its apparently a Gold Infinity system. I want to fit it into my old Mitsubishi L200 ute. There were no male connectors or wiring diagram with the units.  Any idea where I can order the male plugs preferably with some wire attached - and find a wiring diagram? Stacker model # is P56038579AC, Stereo is P56038583Al and amp says its H83781.
Thanks for your help, I am in New Zealand.

Answer
Hi Carey,

Unfortunately I can't offer too much help on this one.  The CD changer is available as an add-on accessory, so the cable between the CD changer and the head unit is available from a dealer.  The part number is 05080971AA.

Additionally, you can find an after-market power/speaker harness that will fit the back of the factory head unit.  The Metra part number is 71-6502-1.

However, there are no after-market parts available for the amplifier or speaker plugs.  If I were looking for these, I'd probably be visiting a local junkyard.  However, I don't know if that's a practical option in New Zealand.

I also wasn't able to find any detailed pin-out or wire color information.  You may be able to get wiring diagrams by purchasing the Haynes or Chilton manual for your vehicle, or visiting online sources like chiltondiy.com.   These are typically pay sites.

I can tell you that the head unit has a built-in amplifier with four output channels; it's capable of driving speakers on its own.  Each channel has a positive and negative output at the radio.  All eight wires run directly to the amplifier, and it produces six separate outputs for the speakers (each with a positive and negative wire).  The crossovers for the speakers are built into the amplifier.  Other wires at the amplifier will include a power wire, ground wire and a remote turn-on wire from the factory head unit.

Sorry I can't be more helpful!
