Car Stereos: Amplified sub enclosure, inline fuse, antenna control

Question
I have an old Pioneer TS-WX75A amplified sub box(tube).  It was removed from a prior install and I have no memory of the wiring.  I have RCA wires to the sub, but have a red and blue wire coming from the sub (along with at orange to battery and ground).  The blue has instructions on it to connect the male terminal to blue lead wire of stereo and female to auto-antenna control terminal.  The red says to connect to 12V on/off.  The red also has been connected to the blue using the male/female terminals from previous install.  I have an aftermarket JVC CD with sub controls (blue and white wire).  Probably not as difficult as I'm making it.  Thanks

Answer
Hi David,

I'm going to have to guess based on the colours since they're (supposed to be) standardised.

The blue is to connect to the 'remote' lead on your deck.  This is the wire that tells the subwoofer that it's OK to turn on.

The red connects to switched ignition power.  This is the one that is only on when the car is on or in accessory mode, so that it doesn't drain the battery when it's off.

Orange is confusing, because the battery lead is usually yellow, and is connected directly to the battery (with an inline fuse (or two)!).

And then black is just ground.  Keep it short, and as heavy a gauge as the orange or heavier.
