Car Stereos: 1993 toyota 4runner radio pink w/blue & black w/red wires, toyota 4runner, dual plugs

Question
What do they connect to?  I am guessing they are connected to a OEM power amplifier.  what do you think?

Answer
Hi Dan,

I don't have those particular wires listed on my wire guides, but factory amplifiers are very common in those vehicles.  If the factory radio has a single plug in the rear (not counting the antenna plug) then it's a factory amplified system.  In fact, once you remove the radio, you should be able to see the amplifier in the radio cavity.  There should be two plugs at the bottom of the amp.  These plugs contain all the power and speaker wires you'd need to install an after-market deck, and they should fit a standard Toyota wire harness (Metra model# 70-1761).  It's standard practice, when replacing the head unit in these vehicles, to unplug the amp and just connect the new deck directly to the dual plugs.

Hope this helps!
